Terms and Conditions

 

The below sets out the terms and conditions applied to all flying members and students of the Amphibious Flying Club Ltd.

General Terms

Student: is a member who is studying for the SES Instructor, SES Rating or a PPL

Flying Member: is a member who already holds a current PPL or NPPL and holds the relevant rating suitable for club aircraft/and completes a satisfactory check flight with the CFI or club examiner.

A Member shall not pilot a club aircraft until the Chief Flying Instructor is satisfied of their proficiency in that aircraft and authorises them to act as pilot in command.

I understand that I shall only be permitted to fly in the group aircraft whilst I am a fully paid up member, and within the restrictions and limitations pertaining to that category of membership.

I shall comply with the group rules (which have been made available to me), the Air Navigation Order, Rules of the Sea, Rules of the Air, ATC Regulations, any other relevant provisions of National and international law, JAR, EASA, the Pilots Order Book and  Aerodrome Rules.

I shall comply with regulations in force and any instructions given by an officer or instructor of The Amphibious Flying Club.

Unless specifically requested otherwise, The Amphibious Flying Club reserve the right to use any photography (still and/or video) taken during your flight for marketing and/or training purposes. Such media may be printed for use in marketing literature and/or published to our website.

Members are strongly advised to telephone The Amphibious Flying Club on 0286634 6861 prior to departing for the airport to confirm their booking.

Cancellation Policy
The Amphibious Flying Club reserves the right to cancel any flight without notice if, in the opinion of the captain, the prevailing weather is deemed unsuitable for flight.
The Amphibious Flying Club reserves the right to cancel, postpone or re‐schedule any flight for operational or aircraft serviceability reasons. In the unlikely event of a full cancellation a refund will be given.

The Amphibious Flying Club shall not be liable for any expenses incurred from flight cancellations due to operational circumstances.

The Amphibious Flying Club will endeavour to provide as much notice as possible in the event a flight must be cancelled or postponed. However, due to the nature of operations this may not always be feasible.

In the event that you wish to cancel a booking The Amphibious Flying Club must be notified either in person, by email or telephone within a minimum period of 24 hours. Where at least 24 hours noticed has not been provided a discretionary fee of £15 (or 10% of the value of the proposed flight, whichever is the greater) may be charged by The Amphibious Flying Club for cancellations or ‘no-shows’.

Gift Vouchers
Trial lesson vouchers are valid for a period of 6 months from the date of purchase and are not refundable.
Trial lesson vouchers are valid for the named recipient only and are transferable only when The Amphibious Flying Club has been informed in writing of the name, address and contact number of the new recipient. Vouchers re‐sold by any means without the prior permission of The Amphibious Flying Club will be deemed invalid.

Gift Voucher flight bookings are always "subject to availability". Availability at weekends can be difficult, so please do not leave your booking until the last moment.

Flights will not be undertaken if the gift voucher recipient or guests are intoxicated in any way or if in the opinion of the captain your carriage may danger or adversely affect the Safety of the flight or crew.

 

The Captain of the aircraft can, at his/her discretion refuse entry to the aircraft for any reason. Participants are strongly advised to refrain from taking alcohol or any drugs within 24 hours of the period prior to flight. The Captain will refuse entry to the aircraft for anyone he/she suspects may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. No refunds will be given under any circumstances if you are refused entry.

Please advise your instructor should you feel poorly or unhappy in anyway. All trial lesson passengers should ensure that they are in good health and if in doubt should seek the medical advice of their GP before flying.

Trial flight participants are strongly advised to telephone The Amphibious Flying Club on 028 66346861 prior to departing for the airport to confirm their booking.
